I started with several “musts”.
No MEPBM code change.
Not labor intensive.
It is my intention to create a system that reads in the xml files and spits out html to be loaded to the website.
All they’d have to do is put all the .xml files for all the turns processed in a day into a directory and run the program. It would be able to see player names, game 0’s to know it is a new game, game over messages, nation eliminated messages, neutral flips, etc.
I think I can build it so that all they have to do is tell it when a player needs to be dinged for a transfer or hard drop.
My concern as originally posted on this thread has nothing to do with the game dynamic. I know this game was designed for selfish player. That, plus it’s subject matter, was why I started playing it in the first place. As someone pointed out, the game has been transmogrified into a team game, where we must cooperate and coexist or suffer to the consequences as a whole. This too is fine with me, as the game has evolved for the better in my humble opinion.
What I’m concerned about, is people getting angry about the PRS, which really has nothing to do with actually game play. Certain players have bitched about it from day one, and now that it has been implemented, more now are bitching about how unfair it is. As many have already pointed out, certain positions and VC’s are askew and will never be balanced, unless the game undergoes a major overhaul. Who wants that? I think the game is fine as is. Sure, it could use tweaking, but that’s another issue altogether…
In short, who cares? If you really are concerned about what others think about your PRS, you should reevaluate your priorities in life. IT"S JUST A GAME. Play and have fun, don’t ruin it for yourself and everyone else.
