Ungh, lots of long and elvish words spoken already here. Desert Dwarves’ Council Of Not Going To War wishes to announce following: All free people and our neutral brothers, our council receives Your presence at: hmoisio at welho dot com
Is there a Northern King or is his house relegated to stewardship rule?
The crows and crebain squawk loudly as the banners amass for War. We poor tree herders and plot farmers are certain to feel pressure to pick between the 2 ageless adversarial parties. We need the Northern King to counsel with the other men whom have not yet been drawn into this inevitable conflict.

Dear Free Peoples. Have you decided to surrender yet? It’s turn 2 you know.
Free Peoples? Given that the DS military strategy so far can be summed up as “Lie on ground and play dead”, I was thinking the DS had already thrown in the towel. On the subject of that strategy of yours, not all of us are bears so it won’t get you far.
Wait. You guys have bears on your team? Like actual bears that can type?
Shoot - we’d better recruit some troops or something before this gets outta hand. I thought you guys were all elves and hobbits and stuff. Nobody said anything about bears.

If the neutrals were to choose a side based on comedy …
We would choose to stay neutral.
Speaking of comedy … this is just a pet-peeve.
Why did people (generally) consider Andy Kauffman a good comic? If you don’t know Andy Kauffman … your lucky. I consider him the worst comic … ever.
I get that we like what we like … but man … that guy sucked, comically.
Who is your worst comic?
Now … back to the game … random rant over.
Comedy is like art, a reflection of it’s time. Someone from the 1800s seeing Chris Rock wouldn’t think he was funny. Many people reading Shakespeare have a hard time getting the comedy in many of his plays (and there is a lot). Kauffman was a special product of the early 80s and I think his style was pretty specific to the time and place.
Also it’s subjective. I can’t handle Seinfeld for example (the series, not the comedian).
Exact opposite on Seinfeld … I enjoy the ensemble of the show and hate his stand up.
I grew up through the height of Kauffman … never got it.
Your right … it is all subjective.
Woo whee! Starting to get a bit thick in here and only turn 8 eh. We thought you guys were just kidding about this war thing. Darn smoke detector’s been ringing for weeks.
Turn 10. Multiple capitals burning. Most of us are still smiling but definitely with fat lips and missing teeth all around.
“I love the smell of napalm in the morning.”
This is indeed a pretty intense game. There’s been battles in all the regions and by know the knives and poisons (not to mention some mild cursing) are coming out too.
Well, us FP lost. We had multiple good things happening, but it just wouldn’t work out right. Then our expert enemies knocked out NK and we couldn’t recover.
I played the Baerengarde of Fangorn and had a good time. A personal high-point was fighting off the LoD/LoH offensive on the gates of Fangorn on T03-04.
Thanks to the FP for a very enjoyable game!
Indeed you pressed us to the wall in Rhovanion, Dunland and Harad, eliminating 1 position (our Weakness nation) and leaving 2 others hanging by a thread. Avalon did a great job holding his own despite 2 to 1 odds in Rohan. SK was pretty beat up by the end. Hats off to Esko for surviving so long. And we had zero chance of taking Fangorn or Mirkwood anytime soon - damn Dwarves.
But thanks to Eastern Kingdom joining us in Khand, we developed a huge backfield in the south, with one nation running a +$30k surplus. This gave us plenty of room and resources to rehome any of our threatened nations up north, and we were definitely playing for the long game.
Honestly, it would have been a fairer fight if Harlindon had joined the FP instead of the DS. Both he and Forlindon put together Conjure Mounts machines which really doomed NK once they started rolling.
If anyone would like to trade turns, I’d be happy to. I played Black Ogre over in Rhun.
Cheers!
Adam
I was up north trying to make a difference with my assassins (who, for the most part, were not able to off anyone).
Loss of North Kingdom was the last straw: that strike broke us.
But thank you for a good game!
Harro, of
Shrinebuilders
Thanks Harro! Good gaming on your part - especially the emmy kills down at 3329. One of our guys accidentally missed his turn which left us easy pickings.
BTW, by the end we had Gundam and Brunner doubled and were hunting Festus’ company.
See you in the next one!
Adam
