Game 56 starts

Dear smuller,

Thank you so very much for paying me the compliments of you wanting to visit pleasure location. Bookings arn’t necessary, you will be met with dignity and Adunaphal will be delighted to see you.

If you send forces her way then she will take it as a moral victory, as this means your weakened forces in the passes will be easily defeated.

She looks forward to your visit and has ordered the very best suite in the grandest hotel for your accommondation. Sorry all out of dungeons at the moment, having them relocated from London.

Of course we the Dark Side would want the mighty Harad and the rampaging Corsairs to fight with (not for) us in our liberation of Middle Earth. Who wouldn’t???

Yours,

Quietly avenging

Ian

To all,

This is my email address Michaelj018@aol.com

And how many others are there from game 13 are there in this game?

I have to admit to playing the fire king in game 13 so I’m looking for foes who I think did well

Gareth Corsairs

For that matter, how many of us are refugees from the late, premature game 16? I was the Lucky Avenger.

cj

Whats the news then, who’s struck where?, who issued E instead of W and vice versa? and that sort of thing

Gareth

2 freeps on vaction, so we dont have full reports. but the mirkwood types went uder aggressive, revealing 2514( bummer) and can take it. not much the free side can do about it. dragon lord arrived at 2508, and witch king double teamed 2405, moving his mounted troops to 2405, and his 2305 army into 2406 to block. murazor revealed 2514.
elsewhere the fire king arrived at 3124, the long rider did some unusual stuff. (northern harad, no hits o nthe northmen?) eothraim suffered no losses, and the evils stacked at 3120, but nobody shined.
turn 2 should be interesting, as both sides opening moves revealed little about there plans.

sm#6

ah, that should read " mirkwood types went ultra aggressive"

quite possibly the line about 3120 should read the evils stacked at 3120, but nobody Showed?

interesting reading the dragon lord gains a major town to balance goblin gate? or did none of the free arrive there?

It’d be nice to hear from those who haven’t talked to me if those who read this forum can pass the message that i’d like to talk to those allies that I haven’t already.

cheers

Gareth

Well certainly the Eothraim didn’t shine that last turn, lets see if they will the next.

Nope Goblin Gate is free of armies, ours, theirs and everyones. The DrL gains a MT and maybe even a Town (close call) next turn. How about the turn after???

It should be an interesting 1

All the best to my friends.

Hi all,

Woodies here. Things are looking dark temporarily, but the woodies will end up in the light. WK and DrL made aggressive moves, but we will win in the end. I may lose a town or two, but I have never SS’d in the many games I’ve played. My allies and I will hunt down the dark side armies and skewer them one-at-a-time!

Of course things look Dark right now, it’s a Black Tide of my minions about to swallow you down. The only light you’ll end up in, will be the flames of your destroyed holdings. You haven’t even seen “aggressive”, yet…

Oh yeah, “good luck to you”.

Don/Dragonlord

Well the Earsterlings have listened and we have made up our mind on a course of action, you may find that chosen to be interesting though

Vandal

SMullers,

You blasted bugger. 16 was so much fun and now I find myself facing much of my old friends  Oh well. Yes opening was odd wasn't it. Notice that bridge missing. Now so will your town. Only you won't be there to fight back.

The Northmen need not worry I won’t allow them to get to bored. The big deal will be with Vandal. He is a tricky one  I guess the next few will be more fun then the usual openings. I trust all is well with my buddies from 16 except that your on the wrong side  Looking forward to locking horns. I gotta say that Mordor is in for a shyt sandwich with that ole dog Mullers marching. You fellows from 16 ever grudge keep me in mind. That was the most team fun I have had yet. Grudge games haven’t even come close. I salute you my brothers and now to plot your deaths
Douglas

Someone is going to get a good spanking and make no mistake

Vandal

An interesting turn.

I turn my back for 5 minutes to wash my hair…yes yes us baddies still need to wash our hair…blood colour of course and what do I find but a sneeky low level underhand move by the SG by forcemarching his cavalry to my one and only town…nice move! Are you sure your not DS in disguise?

Apart from that an ordinary turn from the QA point of view.

Named 3 new characters…but heres the clinch I am really really peeved off :frowning: about the fact that someone has already named one of their characters Susan. Come on who is it? Own up now!!!

More later

Trashing The Bridge Was Poor Sportsmanship.

baddie types…
trashing the bridge was poor sportsmanship. its a very solid move, but really, 10k in timber to rebuild, and it goes down that easy? can i reduce 10l in timber worth of mordor defenses so easily. none the less, hardship makes victory sweeter.
the 20k to hire 400 extra hc for the witch king, douglas, that you?
INSPIRED MOVE! expensive, but it appears 2508 is yours. the bobn and weave around 2406 was nice work. Tactics in angmar/mirkwood take a step foward(perhaps).
long rider, blowing the bridge saved you at 3028, go ahead and rejoyce, but dont for a second think the last word has been written on the anduin valley. i hold the high ground, and the fire king has erred in great fashion. n gondor holds great resources, and they have been marshalled.
this game is fun, with great promise, see you next turn.( or sooner)
vandal, who are you? your dragon lord / witch king play is inspired, but the next two turns are crucial in both regions. i dont have enough info yet on other places, but we shall see in short order.

And so the definitive chronicles of trash talk of the third age went in the legendary game 56 of 2004. There are some who said that it was the hoary titans of olde who were the bread and butter of that game - herding orc, man, and newb across the pixelated board to make nerd war until the end of time. But no, my elven warriors, I know the truth. While the Witch King and Dragon Lord might be “inspired,” and erstwhile allies from game 16 have sent many letters to defeat our entreaties, noone can take away the fact that Mirkwood will be ours. Just as the sea swallows the land, there is little innovation but great inevitability in how these elven fingers play the sweet dirge of death! <insert long, annoying, filchy song here> There are fifty-two ways to defeat Sauron. One and two are the same and they both work as well. I would write another song in honor of my lost city, but there is laundry to do.

May your grave be well tended while I am still immortally young,
Thranduil of the Sinda

SMullers My Main Dog,

We won’t be clashing soon as I will slash and burn  Will wreak havoc and bounce. I feel sorry for the Anduin dudes as you will test them sorely I’m sure. I figured the bridge was the best chance I could give my mates. I will have bigger fish to fry. I will pester you in you far flung areas like warfinger but you don’t really care  . As I stated earlier any of the Dogs of War from 16 plus a few hammers I’ve felt along side my head want to grudge let’s get ugly.
Harad and Easterlings will soon move in a great assault. Trouble is they only know who the victims will be. Corsairs I have yet to hear any news at all But alas I’m am a small and minor player in the world of Darkness. Now Angmar is the place to be so say the soothe sayers but alas I’m not there but in the Rhun area.
Northmen I need a base of operations and I was wondering if maybe you might sell me Dilgil? You have so many pops and allies and I have a lonely mountain. Be a chum and help a nazgul out. Our maybe the Sinda would like to get away from the Rhun area? Just a waste of characters really isn’t it? :stuck_out_tongue:
Really guys It’s great to be at battle with my homedogs  Looking forward to beating each other to a pulp. Hopefully I willl do better then you of course :stuck_out_tongue:
Big Doug

Hey Big Doug, just keep them long bony fingers out of the Iron Hills, dont want to drop a big heavy hammer on them do I.

Bain.
