One thing a HAVE learned about ME is that the DS are supposed to use dragons against FP, have I misunderstood something?
True. Your campaign against our misty mountains pops are limiting our dragon sightings. Well, I guess we just have to use agents, cursers and armies against you then
A revanche? In my book, that is when a looser ask the winner for another game. Are you giving up?
We are sorry to hear that you are dropping game 77 as we now are moving into mid-game. However we understand and respects your decision, eventhough it was starting to look interesting with your last two turns against Mordor.
Again I must say that the level of coordination a team of 12 people could come up with has impressed me. Well played. Good luck with future games (except in the ones against me)
We are very interested in exchanging pdfs. I could set up a yahoo for the exchange?
thanx for your kind words. I would have liked to play on, but circumstances were against our team, it seems. Too many players had real life problems that resulted in a lack of communication and coordination, and so we thought it better to end this game before things get frustrating. Though we had lost no nation so far and must have had several of yours on the brink of extermination, we did not manage to carry that drive home to do something decisive. So we leave this game in a situation which can be called a draw, but would have probably resulted in defeat if continued.
We had four great projects that could have tilted the balance towards our side, the attack on Carn Dum (failed), the take-over of Olbamarl (failed closely), the destruction of 2535 (succeeded but at high price) and the destruction of Osgiliath (succeeded but at high price). Thus in the long run it seems you would probably have gained the upper hand if we wouldn’t have been able to play a better game, and the hopes for that were not high enough.
Our main problem was that we did not prepare our military strikes well enough and so, combined with your immense luck?/skill? on dragons, lost an obscene number of troops to wyrms - very few to agents, BTW. We had three times the forces to take Harad and Angmar but failed to hit home.
To win a game as FP, one needs to damage the DS beyond repair before turn 20. We had the chances to do that, but missed the opportunity to play a better game, which would have been a shorter game for you
Thank you for your skilled opposition, maybe we meet again some day.
I would say the game ended the way I had forseen it, due to lesser ability to coordinate and more sensitivity to drops/disagreements between 12 “loosely affiliated” compared to 3 close-knit players. I would say such a setup win always have the same end. That is also why I was surprised with your level of success. (Actually lost a bet to Per on the game being over before turn 16 :()
Actually SG managed to bankrupt Harad when he burned 2535. But I would say any of the remaining DS nation was in okay to good shape (WK, DrL and DogL only floating due to charity). The last two turns, our economy looked really good.
I agree that our agents was used more defensively than offensively, but regarding wyrms, we just had posting misty mountains as high priority and keeping chars from all nations within reach. Not much magic there I would say. In the beginning I was positive that the strategy with using so many commanders for burning/threat of our dragon spotting camps over using than for recruitment would be your downfall, but that actually caused us a lot a concern in the long run, as we were running out of spotted dragons.
Regarding a draw… From our side of the map, the game was won. It was just a matter of lots of turns.
But why not see all my stories from the seven seas yourself? Lets exchange pdfs, hrm?
Greetings Jeppe,
I’ll ask my mates about the exchanging of PDFs, but at the moment there’s not much communication.
All the guys are extreme busy at the moment ( including me ), that’s one reason why we’ve given up this game.
It doesn’t make much sence to play allways this “last-minute” turns.
If you’ll see the PDFs, you would be able to see that all of our nations are in a pretty good shape.
I’m sorry that you’re not so kind to give us a revanche ( in former games the winner of a grudge has always given the chance of a revanche-game ).
I’ll send ya a private mail, explaining some details.
You DO NOT have to tell us again that you are SOOO extremely busy and all the other things that has come in the way to your inevitable victory. And now you got the nervers to actually question that we will not give you a rematch because you didn’t play well?!?!?!?! We are actually using money and time as you do, so why should we risk a repeat of the first game? If I hadn’t listened to all your BS for close to full 17 turns now I would think you were joking, but sadly I am convinced that you are serious And your mail explaining details, don’t bother. With the content of your past posts in mind, I really can’t think of anything you have to say that would interest me.
Your last post has assured that I will NEVER play you again!
Regarding exchange of pdfs. I have created a temporary yahoogroup and invited Gixxx to join. In the “files” there is four zip with all our pdfs for you to download. Please delete (to make space for your pdfs) and upload the zipped pdfs that you have now. You have to split into seperate files as the UL limit is 5MB.
