Game 82: Team Simpson vs. The Circle

Breath Suzie breath. I don’t know what you mean by the term noob. If it means someone that can wind you up to the point that you’re so angry you cant spell or type then yes I am a noob. You are so eaten up you don’t even know who I am. Why don’t you do yourself a favor. Ask Gixxer. I am not Brad Brunet, I have never played a Gunboat game. When I have the time I play in Open Games. but I have never played in one against you, and from your boasting bombastic postings I would know if I had. I have played in this game since at least 1994 have seen many like you come and go.

I tried to give you a compliment and you go off. Wake up, why do you care so much about what I feel about your play? I wouldn’t care a fig about your opinions if you were not actually playing in a game I was in. You are just too easy to mess with. I guess that is the dark side of my nature, it would be fun if it wasn’t so sad what a moth to a flame you are. I post to rile you up so that you make mistakes and you do.

As to your brilliant strategy, well I will let you in on a secret. You have not wiped out the Woodmen armies, no not even close. He has more troops in the field than you do. As far as Dancu and your wanting to give the Sinda a loyalty hit, well knock yourself out Suzie. Yes you threatened Buhr Fram lost it immediately along with the army that was used. The Free got it back but you had to then spend the cash from your treasury to hire yet another army. That army has been destroyed. Then you hired two armies one at Mount Gundabad which was destroyed last turn. The other at Sarn Goriwing may have been split to allow Dancu to go on his raid. Do you really think that little force can seriously weaken the Sinda? If you were a terrible threat to the Sinda or the Woodmen they would deal with you. Your performance at Mount Gundabad last turn was pretty weak, but Gixx asked me to tone it down so I did. I gave you a compliment, I said you were playing a competent position. If you really think you are doing brilliantly you are bemused at your own reflection.

If Gixx has a full team for the next go round I will be in the next game. You can blind me with your brilliance in that one. We all know how hard it is to knock out a nation in a well playing team. Rhudaur went down because there were some serious communication and concentration problems with the player early on. Angmar survived and he was a playing the position to at least be a pain in the backside of the Northwest. You have escaped real attention because the play of your team in the east and the thus far successful defense of the gates has captured the focus of the Free. All your antics are like VEO said “look at me, I can swim, look at me.” Don’t thing taking a town is going to cause much consternation. They can afford to take the hit and lose the town. You might as well burn it because you can’t hold it. Take some lessons from the Long Rider now there is an offensive.

Later Suzie

Now Gixx, I have been polite to you and Frank and I respect the game the Long Rider and Dog Lord are putting on. Your last group to play team Simpson was soundly beaten and you know it. By the end of the game half your team would not even communicate with the other half. I was the Dragon Lord and it was the fact that your Arthedain and Cardolan nations were not only held but were being crushed by curse squads and agents that caused you guys to give up. However that was then, now is a different game with different circumstances. You won’t get a rise out of me I am not your Suzie.

Oh and Suzie, I was in the game and we were crushing your side. I had family issues that took precedence. My position is being well played by my successor. My family issues have improved and now I can take an interest in the game again. You weren’t there at the start but hopefully you have access to the old files for the game. Check out turns one through eight. Playing you will be a pleasure Suzie.

Gixx you may not know what I am thinking but I do. I don’t smell a DS victory in this game. I know you and your crew will do there damndest to prove me wrong, but that will make this game all that more interesting for both teams won’t it.

Again my compliments to the Dog Lord and Long Rider. Maybe you should coach your Witch King on what it takes to have a successful campaign.

Brad

That speaks very clearly to the issues that dogged the Free in that game. If you think that was a byproduct of your individual brilliance, well, you must spend a lot of time wacking off in front of the mirror.

Anyway, I’d suggest you leave these guys be, Brad. If you aren’t presently playing, you don’t really have anything on the line. A war of words without play to back it up hardly seems worth the effort. Save your energy for if/when the rematch occurs, then deliver a beating for the ages…

S and M and wacking off ? No, Die Hard, in the Last match up of Team Simpson it wasn’t my individual “brilliance” that caused the internal problems of Gixx’s team. They had their own set of factors. I only brought it up so that Terry could understand that I am not the Brad he seems to think I am. He has issues with that Brad as well I understand, but in looking at some of his postings he seems to have time realizing that we are two seperate people.

As for saving it for a rematch. Well I am not sure there will be a rematch with this team. I say this because the structure of the team has changed so dramatically just since this game began. Terry was not originally in this game. He makes himself a target for scorn because of his sense of self importance. Stupid comments like his “Vast” experience: how the Dark Servants cannot be beaten unless he is driven out of Mirkwood or eliminated. His pathetic cries for attention to be taken as a threat and then his rage when someone makes fun of him. Die Hard, I respect you and your views even if crudely put. If you are playing one of the following positions BS, QA, IK, or LR you are playing your typically good games, you back up your reputation with action. What I do not respect is a blowhard that tries to make it seem that he is saving his team from destruction when it is obvious that he is cooped up where he is and can only mount futile spurts of action. Terry sets himself up for being yanked around by his predictions of how bad he is going to hurt his opponents. His play does not reflect his claims. Terry posts that this past turn was somehow a great victory for his team in general and him in particular. If you are on his team you know as well as I do that his nation took a beating this turn. You also know that the accomplishments of your team the past turn were of others doing. If Kaisa had not been assassinated the turn would have been a complete loss for Terry. As it is I doubt that Terry could have defended himself at Mount Gundabad and suspect someone had to come in to do it for him.

If Terry was less bombastic and self important I don’t think I would be saying much in this game. When I had to drop out I stayed out of the post traffic except to make an occasional comment or question. It was Terry’s I can’t believe how awsome I am, type of posts that brought me in.

However Die Hard, I will butt out now. I will leave Terry alone. Terry should also drop his line with me. If you were with Gixx last game you know we beat your team pretty soundly. True there were some serious internal issues but those are the things a team needs to work out before getting into a game don’t you agree? I have never spoken of my individual brilliance in this thread or others, grudge games are team games, as such individuals need to fit in with their team. Team Simpson has shown itself to be a team effort that has been successful.

Good luck, if you are a DS in this game I think you are going to need luck and skill to eventually win.

Brad

Hey I am being very nice for me, as I dont need to mix this pot!

When I joined I did say I would rather be a good guy but it does not change my mind that its gone from a cat in hells chance to the dark side can win it.

Does it mean we will, well as you know the dark gods can be fickle and some crucial battles await.

Its going to be a hard slog for a bit but the outcome is unclear.

Its going to be messy for a bit so lets see how it goes, but look again at your tactics and you will see good plans need completion and some good ideas have failed to do so to date.

I will not talk about anythiNG on the board as I do not wish to give any idea of what I have in mind or we have in mind.

Needless to say in your shoes I would think it all over by now but its not and thats not good. Yes its been grim and in a good game we would be slaughtering you but as you say its been a bad game for us but one where its turned and thats never good.

One can argue about the degree but I am not one to stick my neck out as say its a lost game, its not, neither is it won, its thats hard slog where luck and tactics will decide the outcome.

When the game is over remind me to tell you why some of your game play so good and some of it so bad.

Some crucial turns of late where you have missed some real easy tricks which makes me wonder whats happened to the standard of game play as a rule in my absence.

I am sure from memory you did not play as poorly as this in the past so some of it shocks me more than I thought. Of course perhaps its not your play as I dont know who is playing what but there has been some poor play in the game to date all over.

I AM SURE YOU THINK YOU WILL WIN AND SO YOU SHOULD HAVE, WHETHER THATS IS THE CASE HOWEVER IS NOW NOT CERTAIN WERE ONCE IT PERHAPS WAS.

Let us see how the harsh lash effects a few of your players in the mill of battle and time will soon tell the outcome.

Valid points Frank. There have been some self inflicted mistakes to be sure. These could have been avoided as well. Perhaps a bit of complacency, perhaps some distraction in real life the point is that when the Free had you guys down the job wasn’t finished. This has been the best play of any team that Team Simpson has played in my opinion. You guys did not give up and have battled back. I can tell from comments from your team that you think the worm has turned. I am not sure this is so. Whoever has masterminded the campaign in the East for you has done a fine job. The character siege of the South Gondor capital has been good thinking as well. I am surprised at the resiliency of the DS economy.

The one thing I don’t see is a clear cut advantage in the agent game for either side. Were I the DS I would think that would be an area of concern for me that we were not picking up momentum in the character game. Still over a long slog that could be important and there is time for both sides to boost the effectiveness in the agent war. I think the fact that there is a lot more gold being stolen by the Free than there is by the DS shows that the Free are developing their agents. That the FP lost 6 characters this turn to 4 for the DS could be construed as a DS win of the turn in the character war. I would then look at how everyone died. Two FP were cursed and 4 were murdered. The FP murdered 4 themselves so agent wise this past turn appears to have been a pretty even exchange. Curse Squads can be potent weapons but they are inefficient uses of mages, and the loss of a key mage has the potential for major disruption.

I look for a long and bitter character war to decide this game. Right now I am not sure who is winning it. That is what will make the game a good victory for whoever does eventually win out. My review of the changes in victory points for the FP however does indicate the game has tightened but those points indicate to me at least that the Free still have the upper hand, but you guys have made a game out of a rout.

Oh its never easy to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear but interesting to have a go.

When you have stemrollered the other side and victory is looking certain always a good idea to stay on track and do the job.

As you know is not happened and we are where we are, where we have out shot, can we take it, will you let us?

I always think I will win though its a harder job job now for sure, but much more interesting.

I of course look for a short sharp roll of luck and skill as I feel the dark master is about to play a part.

Perhaps, in fact we know where he who will remain nameless is currently located and have no desire to go there at this time.

Recognizing my crude nature and praising my play all in one fell swoop… flatterer!

Good luck, if you are a DS in this game I think you are going to need luck and skill to eventually win.

I’m not playing in this game, Brad - I’m fully engaged in two other grudge teams… besides, I don’t think Gixxx likes me much anymore due to the how-the-neutrals-should-be-played soap opera…

Anyway, good luck whenever you get a chance to jump back into the action.

  • Keith

Perhaps we do to and the cycle of moves looks good for us

Ahhh i love this… watching people make fools of themselves in there emtions… There pure desire to attempt to shut me up! to stop the trashing of thier nations… to attempt to figuire out how and what i am doing to them… It’s truly a gas! even when you kill my characters have a decent turn against my nation. Still I manage to lash out and hit you… Must be hard eating humble pie from my nonexistant armies you have cleared fro Middle earth… Must have some from the secret base in Shang gri la I am attacking you from… Transfered from sauron himself!

Naye I’m only compotent and some people are Gods… But where I come from I bow down to no one… When you back me into a corner I get mean!! Hmmm … I wonder maybe i have been to gentle in my posts!

Oh Terry, give it up. Just look at your last post. You can’t spell or you can’t type which is it? Exactly who are you trashing? You may take a Sinda town; well whoopty do. When the mighty Witch King can only hang his hat on taking one town with his mighty nation that is a pretty sad state of affairs. I am done with you. You are a joke. Your nation is not a threat to anyone. Dancu’s raiding party what is it 700 troops, I’ll know shortly anyway. Either you don’t know the state of the opposition military in Mirkwood because you can’t read a map or you ignore information from your team or you don’t bother with details like that. Any of those cases make you a fool. You claim you have wiped out a nations armies. Again you are a fool if you believe that.

Your team mates and others have asked me to let up on you so I will. Terry you are a joke that has ceased to be amusing to me. I won’t be exchanging any more of my time with you. I will just react to Gixx and Frank they at least are respectable opponents in the war of words.

Brad, it’s Brad. Stop bringing me up. I was on the DS side, I no longer am. Terry knows who is who here. And yes, I agree, LR and Dog games have been stellar. Cheers.

Hi there Bradden,
Terry is a respectable opponent, you can be sure about this!

He has taken a nation wasted by the former player and he was able to do a lot with it!

… and I think you’re believing the same, otherwise your efforts to take him out wouldn’t be so large.

Have Fun!

Gixxx

Keith,
let the golden rider ride on his high horse …

He will fall to the ground sooner or later!

… and it will be a really rough contact because the horse is soooo big!

Have Fun!

Gixxx

yeah I a spelling bee… yes it’s literature 101 we are playing… But that’s your entire game here isn’t it… don’t worry I be in the next game against you guys… Then you can put up what your shoveling in this game!

the sad truth is… I took over a nation on the ropes… But in order to prove to some pig headed fools that I playing way more than simply compotent is to do what nations can not surrounded by multiple enemies! In the center of the entire opposing team! Right next door to the supposed two agent nations of the FP…

The results speak for themselves… I’m still fighting… still no giving up my hold in Angmar… Creating new problems in Mirkwood! deny it if you Like … Bet Team simpson better coordinate better than they have shown so far or I will be there all game!

Luv it when you guys take this so serious, justifies my mild obsession, LOL

Naw, I’m done now. It’s always the same thing from Terry.

Brad

Allways admirable when people pick up positions that are in poor shape, and allways admirable when people keep playing a position that has taken a heavy beating.
