Perhaps it is easy but think of it this way if it were not, wouldn’t the game become unbalanced in favor of the DS?
Perhaps I am the one not saying this correctly…
Crashing the market is not purely benefitial for the freeps.
Having high prices also gives you a better chance of naming new characters and researching spells as freeps.
Also the free people will also have to rely on sells to keep their economy going, especially if they want to have enough troops walking around.
(I consider millitary expences of less than apx. 30.000 pathetic for freeps)

Everyone would like to have lots of money, but the FP can (and should) run an effective military campaign in all theatres with a crashed market. The DS cannot.
Thank you veo that was exactly my point. If the market is crashed it is beneficial in some ways to the Freeps, while it is in no way beneficial to the DS. Of course everyone likes having lots of money…and working on a balanced economy is hard and takes work.
