119 and Front Sheets

Game 119 Ends in Dark Servant Victory!

Congratulations to Paul Roberts, Dog Lord starter who picked up the
Quiet Avenger after our original player left under ... odd ...
circumstances. Dealing with a Free Corsairs (who bankrupted himself
with a huge army about to break into Mordor) and then our 3rd Harad
who tried to go Free, Paul managed the QA like a shrewd pro and
brought them up to end with 2000 well earned victory points! Most of
the time, the VP Leaders on my pdf drive me to fits of frustration
that selfish, uncommunicative builders get some sort of reward or
recognition, but there's no disputing the results for this game!

Duns and Easterlings joined the DS also, combatting a free Rhudaur.
Ulrik Bisgaard's Easterlings rolled up much of the Rhun, Rhovanion,
and even Mirkwood, extending Ovatha's domain up to Goblin Gate....
My Duns were dismembered in a most unneighbourly way, surviving only
due to the largesse of Paul Robert's Dog Lord. Mordor DS held the
fort where Mike Bateman's Ice King played a key leadership role, while
Brian Medus' Witch King never left the North and his Long Rider spent
the game killing all comers!

Excellent game all! Thanks to Scott Nolan and Scott Strickland for
their inspired Gondor opposition!

In Other News:

I like the text style front sheet with pdf attached, excepting some
formatting issues.. What fits on one line in YOUR email doesn't
always in mine....leading to poorly formatted and potentially
confusing design.

ALSO:

Why does my games list still include games I've left or have ended?
I keep seeing "Process Dates" for games dropped months ago, and have
to worriedly double-check my account balance........ Please improve
here next!

Many thanks!

Ah..... This is becoming an olde story, actually. Teammate who
doesn't communicate suddenly sends off demanding and critical mail
to entire team bitching and screaming about this and that, then
accusations, unreasonable whining, and then gives up when some little
thing doesn't fall his way. Position is unplayable, company doesn't
deserve his money, teammates are all asses, etc etc...

The rest of us sit silently by, the nation gets picked up "out of
desperation" and then wins the game 15 turns later. I wonder if the
original players in these situation ever follow up to see how things
turned out WITHOUT them....

Brad the Former Duns
Who, by the way, is quite content with his game-end/team-WIN 400
VP's...

ps - got a synonym for "goss" that us NAer's will understand?

RD: short for "gossip" = natter, chatter, prattle, small talk, tittle-tattle
etc.

In defense of the mentioned fellow above, the nation was in perfectly
fine shape. The individual dropped the position due to harley's
unwavering stance on an issue. And in so far as disagreements with
teammates, I believe if you remember correctly Brad I had a serious
disagreement with the same individual in the same game. I know it
is hard talking like this without mentioning names, but I am trying
to keep it somewhat anonymous. I think Brad you overestimate what
Pual has done to the position, and what was already there before Paul
picked it up. I believe Brad you were a slight bit too harsh with
that last post, don't you think. Anyway Kudos to most of my
teammates, advice to everyone, don't play two positions- you never
play both as well as you would one. Wish I could say the competition
was stiff, but ah.. just joking

Brian for Murazor and the Nazgul formerly known as Uvatha, who by the
way had 8 successful k/a in the first 9 turns. You go Uvatha you
killing machine you.

To counter the NOW public points above:

Yes, the nation was fine. So why did the person drop? To protest the
company? Last I checked, he was giving the company his money still,
even adding games. Thus, THAT argument, in a Free Country, is CRAP.

Harley's unwavering stance: Harley made the correct position. That's
why I mentioned silly little things that didn't go his way. Imagine
if you were the OTHER nation. Gimme Gimme Gimme doesn't fly when it's
more than you and your little brother. Harley made the Correct
decision, and I dare you to poll the rest of the team...they'd agree
with me...we were just rolling our eyes and waiting for the cry-baby
to shut up...

Your disagreement: I was speaking generally. I didn't mention ANYONE
who had a disagreement, public or otherwise. Don't know why you seem
to
feel the need to defend yourself, you never appeared here…???

Overestimate Paul: No, I didn't overestimate Paul's play. Someone
had to place first in "Victory Points" and I'm GLAD it was Paul with
the QA. He 1) Picked up the nation after all that squabble, and 2)
sacrificed his OWN nation severely (gave ME 2 major towns...) for the
sake of the team. Paul's play was solid throughout, and his team play
was all positive. Paul deserves NO criticism above and beyond everyone
else's in this game. Considering what the POTENTIAL risks were, Paul
did excellent.

Harsh with my post: No. I was speaking in general terms regarding a
situation that is altogether TOOOO common. I originally called the
situation "odd" and then expounded in general terms. Again, don't
fully comprehend your need to combat me here… I think the player
in question is a fully grown adult and doesn't need your help fending
off the mean nastiness that is "Brad" … no…??
(considering I have no intention of "naming names"…???)

Don't Play Two Nations: You've UNDERestimated your own play the whole
game, afterwards on our team list, and again here. Humility is to be
respected. Appear humble in public, but don't believe it.... You did
an excellent job dealing with 2 nations. Between them, you were in the
**02 row and killing people in Harad. Revealing hidden pops and
cursing Dwarves, threatening Cardolani pops and influencing away NG
towns.... No Brian, I much preferred you playing BOTH those nations
than having you give one up to someone else....

"Anyways, kudos to most of my teammates…": MOST??? Gee Brian…
I though you said I was harsh…

First I wanna say I in no way shape or form wanted to tarnish Paul's
play. I have played in previous games, and am willing to play in
future games with Paul. What I said was in defense of the position
itself. Paul is an excellent player with solid skills. I bear Paul

Ahhh, Brad you give me too much credit. I found my play much better
before getting too involved with the second position. Turns 1-10
were fine, my play started to suffer afterwards when things started
to get more complicated. It was only through yours and Paul's
suggestoins that teh positions were made of anything.

"Anyways, kudos to most of my teammates…": MOST??? Gee Brian…

Yes, I do have that reputation don't I?
