123 - Comments and Questions

Hello Everyone,

With 123 behind us, I wanted to open a string for ALL players to
exchange info etc.

For my part, I can now safely answer these questions.

Here are Ringlin's turn 6 stats:

M 54 (89) +35 Orb of Seeing
Challenge 89

Arahad's turn 4 stats were:

A 30
S 27 (57) +30 Bracers of the Mists. You got to watch out for stealth
baby!

Great game folks!

I have a query sort of as a player really as the GMS differ on opinions
here - was Arahad able to assassinate at this stage? What sort of things
did he take out if so?

Thanks
Clint

I'm not certain that this answers your question but if the
information helps the discussion... Arahad's first assassination
was Maben of the Dragon Lord on turn 5. He was an A42(82)/S27(57).
His first agent order was a steal of the ROW on turn 4. He took the
ROW from Din O and injured his guard.

Huh. Celedhring was C33/A34/M50 +40 Taurin
Challenge 104

So I did have the 15 points on you I thought I did - it was therefore
a reasonable gamble which just didn't pay off. That was one hell of a
turn for us.

Of course, if I hadn't screwed up my movement orders that would have
been Gothmog with a 121 challenge rank. Oh well.

Din Ohtar was A33(103)/S30 at that point.
Guarded on turn 5 by Lomelinde, who was a straight 40 point agent
then.

Still, the bad luck wasn't all one sided - what happened to Elrond?
Did he die against Daeron? We saw the personal challenge rumor there,
and a few turns later got out a Reveal Character.

Miramarth was guarded by one of the "Gandalf" riddles, and killed
every character we sent to answer it - I think we gave up after two
deaths. Collohwesta we finally got when one of us thought to tell the
Corsairs it had been LAT'd at one of his camps - he sent a mage and
picked it up with a 900 order.

Good game, though not without its frustration value for us. It was
all downhill once you guys got agent superiority - thanks mostly to
Arahad - and the neutral decisions locked it up. Our internal
communications weren't always the best, either - just for example we
had the agents in place to assassinate both of SG's commanders at 3034
before Gothmog showed up with his threat force, but both tried to
assassinate the same character.

I'm willing to share my DkL/BS .pdfs if anyone's interested.

Why did you guys go after the Khand? When he joined he was fuming
mad. I'm not 100% sure you would have lost him otherwise.

As for Elrond ... Thats a tale for Tim to tell. For my part,
throwing Theoden on Hoarmurath's blade was shameful enough. Chaulk
it up to beginner's folly.

We made a number of attempts to contact him, and got no response to
any of them. After five turns or so of that and no movement of the
armies visible on our maps or new camps showing up, we assumed he'd
dropped and moved to absorb the pop centers, much as you guys did with
Rhun.

When he finally made contact with us we explained, apologized
profusely, and arranged for him to threaten back the one pop center
we'd lifted, but evidently it wasn't enough.

He said he'd missed some turns early, so maybe all our diplomatic
messages were on the turns he missed.
