No-one ever did explain why, if you thought the game had ended,
you submitted orders...

We were told that one more pro-forma turn would run in order to
generate the "win" message for the game but that we did not need to
submit orders for it. A few players from our side submitted orders
anyway in order to jockey for bragging rights and be in the top 3 for
the allegiance when the official game-end notice came.
Not one of us expected or even considered that the game would continue
after receiving the concession email from the captain of the other
team.
