How do you know each turn which xmls you've imported, and which you
haven't? With 4 games it's not something I'm going to remember. I've now
been using Palantir on one game for 4 turns. That means I have to wait (a
fair while now) while it imports 40+ xmls before I can draw the map. Not
something I want to do more than one a turn. And I'm wondering what on
earth it's going to be like when we're on turn 25.
What's the news on Palantir development, has a new programmer been found yet?

Have an OldXML location. When you import a file then shift them into that location. You shouldn't need to import the old data again and again which it looks like you are doing. As for a record just look at these. Someone has already brought up a listing for the XMLs imported - it's on our list of 48 things to do.

Yep we have someone working on it. In reference to your next question I don't know when we'll get another update out...

On turn day, do some file shifting. Let's say you got turn 5 today and thus
know you've already got all of turn 4 xml's uploaded. Before downloading
turn 5 xml's, put all turn 4 xml's into their own folder. Then, download
turn 5 xml's to where you like to keep them. Now when you upload into
Palantir, it will only upload the 10 or so files for THAT turn. Yes, it
will keep your past turns uploaded so you can look back over them.
I personally keep a diff't xml folder for each game I'm in. Within that
folder, I have another folder for putting the xml's I've already uploaded
into so that I don't upload them again and again. Doing so again and again
puts another copy of each nation's nation messages into your palantir
program. I don't like that.

For me I seperate the XML's by turn. I don't import them all each
turn. I only import the NEW ones. Once they are imported once you
don't have to do it again.
For them to do it programatically it could cause a but of conflicts
because you would have to have them choose the NEW/OLD directories
for the XML's. Which of course could change at any time.
Sure its a bit more work on our end to just move the already imported
files to a different spot...but not that much
Marten.

WOW. I keep the XMLs in a separate folder for each
turn. Then, just load the newest turn. I doubt you
need to reload all the old turns.
Am I missing something?
