Clint, here is a suggestion that may appeal to the businessman in you.
Have Amelia James prepare a 2007 calendar entitled “The Girls of Middle Earth Games”. I’m thinking 12 or 14 black line drawings. Each would contain a character portrait (fleshed out) in a dramatic setting. Say, the dungeons of Morannon (torment optional).
Don’t know enough about computers to know if this would work. But have it in the form of a downloadable and printable pdf that you could get with a modest deduction from your account. I would buy one.
If that works well, you might even think of a large scale marketing program for 2008.
We’ve always wondered about marketing like this. Cups, t-shirts, calendars, laminated wall maps etc but never decided to go there. Generally you need to do 1000s of an item (or more than would be bought) to get a sufficient break in price to break even and a lot of work.
We’d love to do it - it sounds like a great idea and I know I’d want one myself!
Pretty sure we can’t do artwork for calenders without contacting the artist though.

Hell yes, and I want coffee mugs with different mug shots on them and pithy sayings to suit the individuals, and T shirts and I want them at rock bottom prices!!!
But seriously I think you will find most of us will want any sort of Merch you can put together, a calander would be an excellent start.
Like Clint says, how many $10 T-shirts with Urzahil on it are they going to sell? maybe one round to a bunch of core players, but then demand is satisfied. I’d rather pay for two turns. If it can get going great, but I don’t see it.

Which portraits would you like to see done? Sounds like a poll to me. Basically we’d look at some colour images of the characters in the game, and maybe some of the new artwork we have.
