One of our projects.. we're working on improving the information given out.
Generally I reckon that is best if a kind veteran takes newbies under
their wing and help out that way. Teaches you a lot more in less time and
more fun...

"I've always felt the lack of decent nation hints for the 2950 game is a
reason for the high drop out rate for 2950. Maybe getting bobbin to take
time off from 1650 g34 and making some nation hints will help people
survive
in a 2950 setting."
OK then, here's a whopping great suggestion. Please could you start to
give ACCURATE information regarding player status on the cover sheets?
I've spent considerable time during the last week chasing players who
were reported as "got SS" on the cover sheets. In some cases this turns
out to be the case, in others, they haven't been SSed at all - probably
low funds are cause.
This causes confusion, unnecessary alarm, and conflict between players.
If we could have "held" or similar for turns which have been processed
but not released, then we could quickly identify the real SS (no orders
submitted) cases. This would make it easier to chase the player and/or
arrange for contingency orders to be used until the player resumes or a
standby is found.

Can't afford to re-wrtie the program at present I am afraid. We can do it
by returning to charging for SS turns if you want though...
When I get some time I will write up a program to deal with the accounts.

Yes, I'd be happy for that to happen. The cost of a SS turn was an
occasional annoyance (IIRC I only got caught once or twice in several
years). The confusion about who's been SSed and who hasn't, is a
regular annoyance.

Hi,
You mean you don't charge for SS turns? Why not?
Colin.
Anyone else feel that way?

Hey, it's worth a try...

I pay 10,000 if it means I get to play free in as many games as I can afford
time to play in for my entire life, IF I was 15 years younger, way I calculated,
10,000 is 2500+ turns, equal to about 65+ games, at my rate, where I only
play two games at a time, each game taking 2-3 years to finish, it takes me
65+ years to use up the 10,000. Since I'm already 233 years old, that puts
me near my third century.
But of course, I left the inflation factor, a 10,000 in 30 years may be like
100 only.
