2nd Edition and MERP Sources

Without touching the various debates threading around...

A friend recently gave me a MERP module regarding
Rhudaur. Very interesting stuff, at least for me, who
plays Rhudaur it seems, 1/2 the time... (?). It's
interesting to read the bio's of characters I've known
and loved for sometimes as long as 15 turns before they
get knifed by the Noldo/Cloud Lord flavour of the week.

Only 4 of the 1650 Rhudaur characters were present in the
adventure module (King Broggha kidnaps Alquawen...) though.
Were the others simply invented? Sourced from other modules
(which mostly involved other regions...)? Anyone know?

There were easily enough characters in the module to fill
out the starting Rhudaur 8... Or, even make random character
names Nation Specific. A simple list for each nation to go
to if/when no name is specified, this list derived straight
from MERP?

Or...how about Bio's of the starting characters with the
original info sheet on the nation? You can control the
Noldo and not know some are sons of another without being
told...kind of silly, that. Give more meaning to the more
obscure characters - makes the nations themselves more
personable and interesting.

Not that I'm getting THAT tired of Sispar or anything...

Regards,

Brad

There was a sourcebook for all of Arnor that ICE published. It
covered Athe, Cardo and Rhuduar. Its been a long time since I've
looked at it but I believe most of these nations characters came from
that. As well as a few Gondor ones.

If you can find any of these out there I recommend them. They are
chock full of character background and info on the towns and are as a
whole good reading if you want to get intensely immersed in a nation.
