Suppose you have a spell at 50%. You try to cast it and it fails. Does this count as casting that spell in terms of what else you are allowed to cast? For example, could you try casting the same spell twice, and if the first attempt fails, then you still get a shot with your second attempt? The rule book says nothing about attempted castings…
No you cannot cast the same spell twice. you can cast two spells per turn but the spells require different casting orders. You could cast a Combat spell (225) and a Lore spell (940) but you cannot cast two of the one grouping regardless of success or failure. Failing still uses the spell ability. Casting a second spell will also injure the mage, and could actually kill them.
