A lurker from the shadows re-appears

2 things

Firstly the UK FTF

Yes I'm in.

Secondly the combat calculater, the main program will work with XP, using
the compatibility option. The problem is the program calls a new page and
for some reason the compatibility doesn't transfer to the new page. If oyu
unhide the files in the directory there is a 'gid' file there and I'm
certain this is the new page thats been called which is why XP hides it as
some sort of temporary measure. Haven't figured how to apply the
compatibility option to this file but still trying. I may however give it up
as a bad deal as I never fully trust calculations not bsed upon my own
hand-written ones.

Hi Alan, I don't understand about gid files and new pages, but I have the
calculator working fine under Windows XP. On checking I find I don't even
run it in compatability mode any more! I do however notice that I have the
program itself (not just a shortcut to it) sitting on the desktop. Maybe
that;s why it works?

I have extended version 1.0 beta working fine on my XP machine.
Copied it straight from floppy. I have it installed 2-3 folders down
in the hierarchy.
