A New Rating System

You say "I suggest that you", keyword being "you". Are you offering your opinion on what the "company" should do? You speak for the company, so that doesn't make sense. Are you referring to Me or Laurence? I'd be able to work on various processes via excel, maybe work towards an access database as a developmental model...but I don't see any private mails in my inbox containing lists or data, etc... :slight_smile:

I'd suggest that you start from today and then take it forward from
then if this was to be implemented. We can add it to the PRS stuff
that is already there. As mentioned before, take what you want from
the PRS and leave the rest if it's not to your own personal taste.

The
raw data should be published on a spreadsheet, giving: Player name;
contact details (e-mail or forum ID); games won verified; games claimed
won; games lost; games dropped; played since date; last win date;
Council of the Wise votes; total VPs, average VPs; etc. etc. etc. That
is, as many stats as can be gathered. Someone will be clever enough to
make it one of those dynamic spreadsheets, where you click the header to
rank all the entries by that stat. Then voila, you have something which
everyone can use according to their own values (brief pause for
self-congratulatio n on pun.)

**** I agree entirely, I believe we've both made this point in the
past..? I'd hazard that a couple of the calculated "ratings" values
could be added, providing they're recalculated from a starting point
of real data, not player reported as were the current ratings.
Active/Inactive item also. I'd quite happily help work through some
of the data management - some of the db/excel grunt work required to
set up the table in the first place - have openly volunteered to do
similar work in the past to no avail.

For a model, pick a sporting league and search for the player stats area...

You = One in this context. I'd suggest that should any amendments to the PRS system that we, the company, will update and support would be from now on rather than retroactive.

If Brad, or anyone else was able to come forward create the Excel sheet etc then that would be very useful and appreciated.

I'd suggest that before that a discussion about changes to be added be made public on here and the forum. List of what is proposed and so on.

Hope that's clearer and apologies for any confusion.
