A review of TT - Spoilers

3) Aragorn v. himself. Jackson, to increase the love factor, has
really pushed the Arwen/Eowyn issue. Some will NOT like this, but I
did. I've read the books about 15 times cover-to-cover and thought
it was great. This will give, in my opinion, better motivation to
Eowyn to do her thing in movie three... At least I HOPE its Eowyn in
movie three. I think there is a strong possibility that its Arwen
who fights the WK in the third movie. That would be tough to chew on.

Personally, I think the Eowyn as love interest thing was a really BAD idea. I think Eowyn was the strong female character in the books, capable of dealing with men or monsters on an equal basis. Her going all misty at the thought of Aragorn being hurt really irked me. It made her look like a school girl playing at war rather than a powerful, independant personality.

Except she is that way in the book also, read the parts after
Aragorn takes the Path of the Dead, or leaves Minas Tirith for the
Black Gate while she stays in the healing house.

I think some people`s gripes may be coloured from distant memories
of "that cartoon" version of the story. The films are very true to
the books in every way...additional stuff is often lifted from the
appendices and the only thing that i know for sure has been added -
the osgiliath scene- was VERY cool in TTT. it gave the notion that
Faramir had the weakness of men, but seeing the winged nazgul and
Frodo`s effort with the ring it showed his better judgment. Plus it
did let us see Osgiliath. And , though i`m loath to do it  , i
agree with Fletch that there are gonna be some additional scenes when
the next instalment of the dvd comes along. i can`t wait!
One question for the destractors; could YOU or anyone else you could
name do a better job of making a movie of these books we love?
