A review of TT - Spoilers

The films are very true to
the books in every way...additional stuff is often lifted from the
appendices.

Untrue. There are a number of changes which were all Jackson. The Ents decision, Arwen rescuing frodo in fellowship, the different groups of orcs in the mob abducting the hobbits, etc. Only question is if we agree with those changes or not.

One question for the destractors; could YOU or anyone else you could
name do a better job of making a movie of these books we love?

Well, if you want to give me a ton of money and send me to New Zealand with Liv Tyler and Christopher Lee, I'm willing to give it a shot :-). But only because I'm the kind of person thats willing to make sacrifices.

A little bit chastened...Arwen was in the first movie. I was talking
TTT. I get a feeling that the mixed orcs Uruks/Orcs were there but
not emphasised in this cut [dvd, maybe?] and the Ents decision is
really only a timeline change for the benefit of the flow of the
movie. Whattyagonnado?
As i said, like the first movie, i suspect there will be more to be
seen on the extended dvd. The extended FOTR is WAY better
for "purists" IMHO.
