Clint:
Have you considered the following publications:
Wargames Illustrated: Stratagem Publishing Phone 01636 610488
PO Box 6412
Newark, Notts.
NG24 IGY
Published monthly, a glossy magazine that caters mainly to the
Historical Minitatures crowd of which I am one. Has a wide following
in the USA as well among historical gamers. There are however
articles on fictional scenarios and advertising for fantasy items by
various manufacturers. This I feel is the premier historical
miniatures magazine on the market, and with it's carry over into
fantasy and it's reach to the UK convention organizers would get you
in front of a lot of gamers both in the UK and in the USA
Miniature Wargames: Pireme Publishing Ltd Phone 01202 297344
Suite 10, Wessex House
St. Leonard's Road
Bournemouth

A close second to Wargames Illustrated. Also published monthly. It
has articles in nearly every issue that are fantasy, or not strictly
historically based. Thus it's readership obviously is not so dyed in
the wool historical gamers.
Midwest Wargamers Association Newletter:

Richton Park Il, 60471
USA
This is a newsletter published about 6 times a year by Hal Thinglum.
I has a readership in the thousands and its overseas subscriptions
are handled by Caliver Books in the UK. This is a glossy gazette
sized publication that discusses new miniatures, rules sets, battle
scenarios, the direction the hobby is headed etc. It won the Charles
Roberts award as the Best Amateur Gaming magazine at least twice.
Issues run 160 pages or so, this is not some flimsy newsletter as its
name might imply. The address is Hal's home.
Finally I am not sure that Practical Wargamer is still in Publication
One issue I had did have a long article specifically on wargaming
battles of the War of the Ring.
Address was or perhaps is: Practical Wargamer
Nexus Special Interests

Phone I have in my issue is 01442 66551.
Don't know if this will be of any usefulness to you, hope so though.
