Yes, you have to nag. But the argument can be won. Once your team mates have learnt the system, they'll love it, cos it's easier to type:
1234 130 Dun capture by Regent
than say "They took Tol Gubbins" and have you flooding their inbox with multiple follow up questions:
Please give me the hex for Tol Gubbins.
Which enemy now owns it?
What size is it now?
Is the tower still down?
What's the estimated loyalty?
Persevere. Good mapping wins games, so you can convince your team to help you as map man, by evidence of success.

It takes me no more than 20 mins per (usual turn) though I don't
use the character or army tracking facilities. It's easy once you
train your team to submit their pop data in "standard format". I
have a help file which explains this (e-mail me next week if you want
a copy). Once everyone knows it, they just send me a few lines on
the end of the turm report eg;
1234 010 Woo new camp
1235 120 Woo upgraded
1236 060 --- destroyed by DrL
and I just paste the block in as data. Takes me a few seconds for
each turn report.
It only takes 20 min IF EVERYONE on the team does their own data.
The 2-4hrs is based on 1 person getting the information for all 10(+)
nations and putting it together.
