Hi guys, this topic came up in the FTF. Would there be any interest in a weekend game? Start Friday late UK time (afternoon US) and play until around 1am UK time. Then up early to play again. Hopefully get around 17 turns in over a weekend then. Basically you’d be playing the game all w/end with breaks to feed the kids, bathe that sort of thing.
Format to be decided but I’m flexible if there’s numbers. Upto 2 nations a player; communication unsure as it will slow things down to a crawl I suspect. Possibly diplos sent out to team-mates (and everyone would get everyone’s turns on their side?)
Yes you’d play it from your own home (or rather you can play it anywhere you want to, just need to be able to allocate the time to do so).
I recommend to keep some flow to the game that we allow diplos to be sent AFTER you have sent your orders in. Keep them to 100 words total, and they’d go out to all your team as well. Then we’d just grab them, cut and paste into an email with all the email addresses and forward them. As usual, with a GB style game, no communication would otherwise be allowed - BUT you would have their turns.
Maybe allow communication via Skype, Teamspeak, Vent whatever from the submission deadline (on the understanding that you have submitted) to the turn issue time? After the aim here is not to limit communication just to prevent it getting in the way of rapid turns?
As we discussed at the FTF, in principle up for this but will struggle to get permission for another weekend for a while!!!
I’d be okay with that - would make the game more intense though as you’ll do your turns then chat with less down-time. That can be stressful I’ve found.
K looks interesting to me in terms of players, I’ll look at a date in late Jan/early Feb. If you’re definitely up for it then please email the office so that I can get a feel for numbers here.
Clint, would love to give it a try, but since I came out of semi-retirement, and only getting so many vacation days as the so called rookie, wife isn’t gonna let me waste a vacation day for a friday, to play my so called games, as she calls them, as we are heading back to UK in July/August and need them for that.
