Allright, call it a draw.

Incedently, maybe because what was at the time a weak rural nation beat the most powerful country in the world, many Americans see 1812 as a victory which established us as a world power. One U.S. folk song reads:

In 1814 we took a little trip,
Along with Andy Jackson down the mighty Missisip.
We fired our guns but the British kep 'a comin'.
There wasn't neigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began 'a runnin'
Down the Mississipi to the Gulf of Mexico.

They ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles.
They ran through the places where a rabbit couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississipi to the Gulf of Mexico
