On that point then the Americans lost because they wanted to conquer Canada
and expand the states, but British forces stop that occurring, not bad
seeing we were involved in a major European conflict at the time

My understanding of the War of 1812, was that is was a draw between the
Americans and British, I think that was the year we marched through the
streets of Washington and burnt down the White HouseI think typically winning/losing is more determined by success/failure at
the end of the conflict, or by who accomplished their aims. That is, unless
you consider both World Wars to be draws, because the Germans did well at
