Does "playing up" mean what a Yank would mean by "acting up"? "Acting
up" means "behaving badly" or "malfunctioning".

Yep :slight_smile: As time goes on I become more aware of such things.....

Friday night we had Stu say Mary Marry Merry - to us Brits it all sounded the same from his lips [ and clearly different when we say it!] (in the same way as many Japanese learning English can't hear the "r" sound and pronounce it "l" - fascinating world... )
