If you want people to mail you directly, it's usually best
to include a suitable address... 
Anyway, the AppleScript folder contains quite a few scripts
for renaming files. Look in the "Folder Scripts" folder and see
if anything there does the trick. And did you really mean OS 5/6,
by the way?
