Less than ten percent of the firms listed in Galactic View were
represented. I was very interested in seeing LT Wars and Primus Inter
Pares, both of which have had great Flagship coverage, but they were
nowhere to be seen. What a wasted opportunity for the GMs concerned.
The coverage in Flagship is not representative of the companies out there
from what I have seen. There are some that are very highly seen such as
Madhouse and yours truly (IMHO), State of Mind amongst them as well but this
has little correlation with turning up at such events. Flagship doesnot get
a company many players - the people who read it from what I can tell (IMHO
again as I don't have access to all the data), are the keen possy- ie
looking for new games. PBMers as a whole are very much stay-at-home types
(Legends players are an exception - ME does not lend itself well to having
pubmeets as such as there is less to discuss about the game) [We had around
10-20% of our players turning up which was a good turn out at the last Con]
So this year we are trying to get games organised so that you have something
to do. Also would you be prepared to wear a badge and look a little silly?
It's probably too late to get something into Flagship, but maybe I should
try.Ealing has a baths, doesn't it.... Waddya reckon, two quid a throw?
Heh - does that mean I can put the turn fees up as you obviously all have
money to burn... cool. Holiday this year, here I come...
