Army Clashing Kabbala

Who moves first when enemy armies in adjacent hexes
try to swap?

I've long been a believer in the coin-toss theory --
each has a 50/50 chance. But I've recently been thrown
by two sets of contradictory evidence.

Other theories floating around:
- cav moves first
- fed troops move first
- troops moving to easier terrain (like down from
mountains) move first
- ForcMar moves first

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Dan N.

(Note that this question arises only when armies are
exchanging places, as when trying to block an invader.
For all other situations, armies always get to move
into their first hex of movement.)

I have seen that more times than not it is depending on the treain type. Who Actualy finishes there movement first as aposed to who moves first. If the movement costs are the same it is 50/50. If your movement points are lower into the target hex you win. I belive this due to the fact that it supports meany of the theroys you listed. Unfeed troops have terain modifyers and Cav has lower movement points.

I've always given the 860 when I "really" wanted to get there, based on some
vet's assumptions of years ago. So much of the game seems to follow "common
sense" logic, factors such as those listed might well be involved in the
"modifier" to the "coin toss"...or, we really need to expand our hobby set
and not imagine caring so much...

I went to a Q&A session hosted by the game creators many years back

at GenCon. At this time they indicated that the initial movement for all armies was randomly determined. I have since had discussions with people who say otherwise, but I tend to believe the developers. --- In mepbmlist@yahoogroups.com, D N <nanooknw@y...> wrote:
