Here is how army movement works: Presume there are twenty armies moving during a particular turn. Every army is randomly sorted for each and every movement point. So, your army may be third on MP1, sixteenth on MP2, etc, etc. You are always considered to be in the hex you are mocing into, not the hex you are moving out of. An out-of-food infantry force has exactly the same chance to move first into a hex as an- in--supply cav that is forcemarching. The army randomly choosen to move first will get there first on MP1.

I have seen that more times than not it is depending on the treain type. Who Actualy finishes there movement first as aposed to who moves first. If the movement costs are the same it is 50/50. If your movement points are lower into the target hex you win. I belive this due to the fact that it supports meany of the theroys you listed. Unfeed troops have terain modifyers and Cav has lower movement points.

I've long been a believer in the coin-toss theory --
each has a 50/50 chance. But I've recently been thrown
by two sets of contradictory evidence.

Other theories floating around:
- cav moves first
- fed troops move first
- troops moving to easier terrain (like down from
mountains) move first
- ForcMar moves first

Thoughts?

(Note that this question arises only when armies are
exchanging places, as when trying to block an invader.
For all other situations, armies always get to move
into their first hex of movement.)
