Army Size

Hi guys,

had turn reports which indicate the presence of armies, but only gives generic size - i.e. huge, large, small etc.

Are there guidelines about how big an army is to fit each category?

Cheers in advance

Simon

Greetings Simon

There are no guidelines, as far as I know.
Once the german gamemaster told me that it has something to do with the armies that are in the game.
If there are a couple of 5000 and more troops armies in the field a 1200 man army may be shown as a "small army" one.
If the biggest armies are about 2000 or 3000 guys that 1200 man army will be shown as an "Army".
It all is based on the actual army situation.

Hope this helps you

Stefan

This changes each turn, depending on the sizes of ALL the other armies out there. An
army of 1500 troops could be an army, a large army, or a huge army, depending on the
number and size of armies currently active in the world that turn. (I doubt it would
EVER show up as a small army, though I suppose it's possible.)

It varies from turn to turn. The largest armies in the game are always
"huge"; the smallest are "small". The best thing to do is see if you
and your allies can get together each turn and figure out what size your
own armies in contact with your or your allies' pop centers and armies
are, and get some clues from that.

Note that navy size is calculated based on ships, not troops... a
"huge navy" and a "small navy" in the same hex may be lots of warships
on one side, and lots of loaded troop transports on the other.
