Could someone please clairify for me what happens to the artefacts of a character after…
…he is killed in army combat?
…he is overun?
Is there a difference?
I can’t seem to find the answer with the search function…

After combat, I believe it is possible that another character in the army can pick the artifacts off the dead body, if another character is there. But I cannot substantiate this. If not, then the artifacts are just sitting in the hex.
Nobody around after an overrun, they’re just sitting there.
Artifacts just sitting around are easier to pick up than hidden or lost artifacts.

But I’m not as confident regarding artefacts being easier to find when dropped then normally. I have had some pretty frustrating experiences in this regard…
Need I remind everyone that the game’s most important artifact was dropped after an overrun. Noone has seen it in thousands of years, and they have been looking
