Whats with all those pub meets ? I've been trying to find out some info
about G34 (ie when did Clint first talk about finding people willing to
lose
to us Aussies), but all i'm finding is talk of pub meet after pub meet.
*** You can always check the archives for this list if you want but I am not
sure how (having never done it b4).
I'm starting to think your beer isn't as woeful as the rest of the world
thinks it is. That or your English/British/is there a difference :)/
standards are 'different'.
*** Well it is quite amusing - once got a player to play under the
influence - my did he regret it later on...
Lets hope with G34 due on the 13th that our free opposition will be sober
enough to work out what way is Mordor (1).Actually in OZ we have our biggest gaming convention this month. Can-con
will be held in our capital city on 22-24. While the standard of
conventions
in OZ are going downhill (PBM companies i've talk to claim the net allows
them to advertise, so they don't have such pressure to attend conventions
to
get new players), its still good to put faces to your enemy.
** We have always like to put names to faces - the biggest shock was seeing
this 7 foot tall guy built like the proverbrial brick s... house who had the
most calm and passive voice on the phone - sounded like he was 5'5" tall
(his girlfriend is around 5' tall which was a tad amusing - not that we go
to pubmeets/cons to laugh at our players - of course not - that wouldn't be
British...)
The other common thing we Aussies do at conventions is pretend to be
someone
else, so we can get the GM to give us the turnsheet instead of smailing it
out to us. Making false ID are taught in our schools as part of our Aussie
(criminal) history.
Had someone steal my turnsheet once for Serim Ral - two turns later 6
players jumped my main castle - nasty....
p.s. while some aussies PBM games have met the GM nights, its either pizza
at the GM place (we all chip in some money - ala Dynamic Games). Or dinner
at some fancy place (so we have to put away the thongs and try to remember
how shoelaces work - ala Midguard).
Tried this at the last pubmeet - as a social drinker at best a meal is a
great idea!!! Of course the players popped over a few more shorts... Ah
well...
