Regarding the problem some people are having with Automagic 2003a when
they try to send their orders in...
This is a slight error in that if you setup the file in a certain order,
(setup, transfer, import, etc.) it confuses Automagic as to where your
XML file is located. This should be fixed in the next revision, but the
quick fix is to do a DELETE & IMPORT on the ORDERS sheet. This will,
unfortunately, delete your currently input orders data, but should reset
the game folder location and clear the error... At least I THINK it
will, since I don't have the problem on my end. Give it a try and let me
know if it works.
I've a little problem with Automagic (even in the newest version). Automagic
don't import the due date from the XML file. The cell for the due date shows #VALUE (#WERT). I'm using the German version of Excel 2000.

I'm having the same problem. Just manually set the date, and it
shouldn't be an issue.
Yeah I have the same issue. I believe is this due to the language
settings of Windows or Excel. i.e. the date in the xml is created
using the uk version of excel, but when it is imported into Excel
where the language settings are different then you get this issue
with the value.
I don't think there is anyway around this except to manually set
it....but hopefully Mike Mulka can confirm.
Cheers

I agree that this is a simple problem and can be fixed
a simple way. But Automagic is almost perfect, so why
we shouldn't try to make it really perfect
Recently another think regarding Automagic came to my
mind:
When transferring artifacts and/or hostages, could
Automagic check whether the target character is from
the same nation (should be possible, cause character
ID's a unique) and if yes, whether it is at the same
location as the transferring character. This could be
one step nearer to perfection

*** Mike is doing this for free, in his spare time. There's only so much we can ask.

*** That would need information from other player's XMLs. At present outside our time/energy/money to get organised. We're hoping to bring out the Middle Earth Mapmaker program which will then (possibly) lead to being able to do this sort of thing. We're not sure yet until we have the final version.

I had the same problem, too, and it turned out to be that I never put
the path to the XML file on the front sheet of Automagic. Once I did
this and then re-imported, it worked fine.
