Hi, all!!
I usually take for granted that the fact that I am quite an anti-Microsoft
activist has some drawbacks in my information sharing with people (word
files, excel sheets... and so on..) but, up until now I do manage quite O.K.
with the converters that Linux offers, at least to read the files... With this
in mind, I had not complaint to much about the fact that the input orders
generator was in the form of a Excel file. It is just a pity that it contains
macros in Visual Basic, which makes it totally unusable by my Gnumeric, which
can open all kind of Excel files up until now... but, it is true that I
consider completely unfair that I am going to be charged more per turn just
because I choose to run a free operating system... Couldn't be a better way to
do this? I would offer to devote some time to translate Automagic to some
'standard' language, application (even pure C code) that can be used in
different OS... but I am afraid that I do not have that time myself right
now... It requires some coordination of people and some kind of 'project
management' ... I am just throwing out the idea... anyone buying?
In the meantime, I am fighting to find a solution to this, because I don't
want to install Windows just to run Automagic... and I do not want to pay more
for playing MEPBM... probably I'll stop playing until a find a decent
solution...
