I'm having a look at Automagic, having been used to Meow. I need to
ask what are no doubt some "dumb" questions, but if anyone has the
time to answer, I'd appreciate it. I've read the instructions sheet,
but please bear in mind the fact that I'm also using Excel for the
first time, and only have a rudimentary understanding of spreadsheets
in general.
1) How do I save it? I have automagic2006a1.xls as a file, as
downloaded, and I've imported my turn data. Do I save it under a new
file name? I'm a bit confused here you see, as spreadsheet with
macros feels different to running an application and saving a file
Meow or Word style.
2) How do I handle other games and other positions in the same
game? Do I open automagic2006a1.xls at the start of each one and
save under new file names?
I expect I'll have more questions as I proceed. He who asks a

what I do (no means best) is I have a seperate folder
for each game (say game 239). All the turns go in
there. A subfolder is "xml" where the current turn
xml files go for palantir, and "old xml" where I move
the old ones for archives, before the new ones go in
for the latest turn. Anyway, in the 239 folder, I
savee "wk1.xls" and then after that turn is done and
run, I open up "wk1.xls," import the turn 2 xml, and
then Save As "wk2.xls." So it keeps rolling forward
basically. Each turn run/import gets a new Save As.

As above. Import Nation A, save as "A1.xls." Close
it. Open automagic again, import Nation B (have to
redo setup), save as "B1.xls"
