As per the title - I can’t seem to get it to work. I recently upgraded my computer and it came with Vista
It also didn’t come with any office software so I downloaded OpenOffice (which, incidentally, I recommend). I’ve tested it with other exl files with macros and they all seem to work… so can anyone suggest
a) what the problem is, and b) [more importantly!] how I can fix it?! No offense… but MEOW sucks…!
Mine works because I enabled macros. That’s the biggest issue you’ll run into. It can be fussy with sending it directly via e-mail, so I usually upload via the webserver.
Having just updated it for KS (currently in test) I can safely say that I don’t fancy rewriting it for OpenOffice. Automagic is a work of genius by Mike, but it’s not something I’d care to completely re-write.
Can’t you transfer your Excel license from your old machine to your new Vista one?
[QUOTE=EverSilentOne;35586]I enabled the macros too… they just have some sort of run error or “no script to run” sort of thing.
Make sure you have all the info filled in from your turn file… like computer (windows/mac), game path, etc. I’ve gotten something similar “no script to run” thing but that would usually fix it - though this was with excel and not openoffice…
I, myself, am having no problems with Vista, Office 2007 and AutoMagic. Where I’m having problems is with the above named system and AutoMinister. I get a Run-time error ‘445’: Object doesn’t support this action when I try to import on a Microsoft Visual Basic dialogue box. Then a layout screen pops up with all the stuff all over the place when I press end.
Scott,
Do you know how to look into the DLLs that are set in Excel. If not then can you go into the orders tab and click on Tools / Protection / Unprotect Sheet. Then right click on the “Delete and Import” button and click on the Asign Macro option and then on the edit button. This will take you into the code. Click on the Tools / References button and check whether there are any DLLs that seem to have a problem. Let me know if there is anything that seems to be wrong there.
I don’t have Excel 2007 on my Vista PC so I need to get information before I can work out what is wrong.
