One result of using Automagic will surely be that it won't be possible for teams to check each other's orders - unless I'm missing something?

Actually, I think it will be easier. AM generates a very elaborate human-readable order form that can be pasted into an email, as well as the computer-generated one. This way, orders need be entered once for human and computer consumption.
