AutoMagic Upcoming update...

Just for everyone's info, the next revision of AutoMagic will have some significant
changes in it. I'm just waiting on a decision regarding changes to the auto-input file
(the one sent to MAIN) before I put it out. (I'd rather not spew out revisions too
often if I can help it.) I'll send out another E-Mail when it's completed and posted.

Anyway, as a heads up, the changes coming in the next revision include:

···

------------
GAME sheet:
ADDED Macro Button to automatically transfer Game/Turn/Character/Calculator/Nation
info from one file to another, backup the old game file, and save the new file with
the original game file name. (Should make revisions easier to handle.)

INSTRUCTIONS sheet:
CLARIFIED orders with Troop Numbers and order 725

ORDERS sheet:
REMOVED requirement for name/gender in 725

SEND sheet:
CHANGED Send Orders macro to ask about auto-send via E-Mail, so people without E-Mail
on their computer can just get a file save and no auto-send.
CHECKS to see if C:\Temp exists before attempting to save a file there, (only if a
Game Folder hasn't already been selected). Will create if it needs to.

NATIONS sheet:
ADDED Macro buttons to auto-fill for different scenarios (1650,2950,FA,B5A)
------------

If you've noticed any other problems, let me know NOW so I can get them in the next
revision before posting it.

Thanks,
Mike Mulka

Would like the ability to have one automagic for more than one
nation such as the gunboat and other games where one player will
play multiple nations in one game.

Thanks, keep up the good work, I use it and like it.

Actually, we've discussed this possibility. The ORDERS and SEND sheets make up over
75% of the file size. If we had multiple copies of these sheets within one file it
would be huge, so we decided not to go that way.

You can have multiple copies of the file if you like, and just rename them for each
position. (If the Nation and/or artifact info is identical, then you could remove
those sheets from the duplicate files, though they don't take up much file space.)

Thanks,
Mike

hi mike,
maybe the original posters intention is to retain the orders he keyed in
for each turn.
couldn't you save each turns orders in another sheet? no formulas just data.

then again, i could have misinterpreted his question.

Each turn's orders are saved in the file the program automatically generates. I'm not
certain how also saving them within the Excel file would help. If you could explain
further?
