Okay in answer to some of the emails that you've been sending.
The MEPBM website is www.MiddleEarthGames.com - the link is around the 5th
click on the LHS there. If you don't see it then press CTRL F5 (or reload
the website) and you should see it. If, following these instructions, you
don't see it then get in touch with us.
MEPBM is a separate company from Harlequin Games, hence Cheques are made
payable to MEPBM Games etc. There should be a link from Harlequin to us.
We split from Harlequin for tax reasons... but are still very linked.
Admin costs/extra charges/turn fees. In April we normally increase the
price of turns (in line with the end of year business bits). What we intend
to do when things calm down is change the pricing structure of turns.
1) Automagic or MEOW users who receive their turns by email will be charged
at a certain rate.
2) Email players at a different rate. (Ie those who receive turns by
email).
3) Postal players at a different rate again. (Those who receive turns by
post).
We're not sure about the exact rate yet - nor are we sure what those rates
are (they could all be the same for example). Our apologies for any polemic
that raised temperatures here (John's style not to some players taste I
guess). As a note of interest DGE charged different rates, and charges - if
you got your turn on the process date for example you got charged for that,
all email games different rate to postal games etc. So players playing with
DGE paid different rates for the same game.
It costs us more to run a postal turn than an email turn, and more to run an
email turn than an Automagic turn. We prefer to encourage players to use
the cheapest option by rewarding them with the cheapest costs. Seems fair
to me Admin fees are extra work that we have to do - we charge for that.
So inputting a turn by hand takes more time than Automagic hence costs more.
We want to get the coding done on Automagic and MEOW first and then we'll
explore other systems. We're a small organisation that cannot support too
many choices and the queries they bring up - and they will do. Ask me again
