At present - we do do an auto-reply but unlike the North Americans email
cost us to stay on-line so instead we log-on around 10 times a day - which
is usually enough. This then provides the auto-reply which is sent out.
We're looking into a 24 hour system.
We have other auto-replies for the other games and enquiries that we have
(we run around 8 other games as well) - we just inform players of the
appropriate one for the game that they are playing in. (Part of the reason
for other games we don't want players to put "Game" in the subject line as
it has "..me" in it - hence they get the ME autoreply).
Confused as to what you did not get an auto-reply to could you inform me
what they were and I can check the preferences we have set. (Not all
players want an auto-reply.)
We fix it right up as well. We keep records of the email sent to us - all
you need to do is keep the auto-reply for time and date. It helps if
players send details about errors though as this speeds up enquiries about
such things.
Note as far as I am aware (excepting our recent problems with the email
server going down - 1st time in 4 years I might add - very bad timing
though).
You're welcome to address problems direct to the GM if you want - and then
if not satisfied to the list - generally gets a better feeling. I have had
the occasional "you messed up my orders" type email sent to the list -
searched and found that it was player error. It's our job to offer what
service we can fairly and afforadbly do.
I have yet to see the "wow everything is cheaper" emails --- well I
can but hope.... We have had the "wow this is great thanks for
everything emails" and the the "wow this stinks" type emails as well... the
first 3 months are the worst - after that everything should be an
improvement over the way DGE and Harlequin did things.
I hope that helps.

I would like to humbly beg Harlequin to find the autoreply program, or
whatever, that Deft used, and switch to it!
When you send your turns to Deft by email, it would INSTANTLY sent you a
simple reply back, with your original email all there, saying that it has
reached
the turns account, blah blah, etc.
Harlequin seems to have a system that replies automatically (?) only if you
have ME first in the subject...so I've been told. Of course, this is not a
statistically relevant opinion, but, I have had things automatically
replied to
WITHOUT "me" in the subject, I have had things automatically replied to
a number of hours later, and I have had things NOT automatically replied
to.....
Also, the reply Deft used to send actually claimed to have came from
somewhere,
as opposed to Harlequin's hidden source. If you had a problem with your
turn, you
could just send their automatic reply, with all your orders that they
clearly received,
right back at them, and await a simple "Yes of course, sorry, we'll fix
that right up..".
Where is the onus of proof with the Harlequin system?
Regards,
Brad Brunet
