I think the answer to the whole autoresponse thing is this:
You send a mail to the mailing group list, which then sends on a copy to
everyone on the list 'transparently'. Harlequin's autoresponse system then
kicks in and returns the auto-response message.
I think the reason some people feel that these are being sent to the list,
is simply that the mail keeps the same header, i.e. includes the [mepbmlist]
bit, and I'm assuming that those people who have received these back on what
they think is the mailing list, actually have their Inbox assistants set to
catch anything with [mepbmlist] in the header and put it in the folder in
which you keep your list mails.
Obviously, if you filtered by address rather than header, these
auto-response message would most probably not get through to the folder in
which you keep your list mails.
