Autotragic

Hi all,

As a user who runs Linux, and therefore has great difficulty with windows pased applications, I have broken down the Automagic output so that people like myself can benefit from the price cut and still get my orders in as though I had used automagic!

So, just a quick note to all those who want to benefit from the price
reduction associated with automagic, but don't want to use the software!

You will need to write your orders in a text editor as using the following
format... Then save the file as mexx.yyy where xx is the position number
and yyy is the game number. Both values are 0 padded, e.g: position 1 in
game 2 would be a file me01.002 etc. This file will need to be attached to
an e-mail addressed to auto@middleearthgames.com

The file format is:

First line Must be:
BEGINMEAUTOINPUT

gg,p,ac,sec,name,date,t,ordn

char1,ord,q1,q2,q3,q4,q5,q6,q7,q8,q9,q10,q11,q12,q13,q14,q15
char1,ord,q1,q2,q3,q4,q5,q6,q7,q8,q9,q10,q11,q12,q13,q14,q15

char2,ord,q1,q2,q3,q4,q5,q6,q7,q8,q9,q10,q11,q12,q13,q14,q15
char2,ord,q1,q2,q3,q4,q5,q6,q7,q8,q9,q10,q11,q12,q13,q14,q15

etc.

ENDMEAUTOINPUT <-must be the last line!

where:
gg - Game number
p - Position number
ac - Acount number
sec - Security Code
name - Your name
date - Deadline of game in format: daymonthyear - 10April2002
t - YES/NO - Have the orders been automatically sent from Automagic.
ordn - number of orders issued.

charx - Character id (lowercase)
ord - order id (number)
q1-15 - order qualifiers (must be in lower case, if no qualifier requiered
or present then must put in --. Only qualifiers that can have capital
letters is new Pop Centre names and new character names. NOTE: With
military movement ev/no - evasive/normal must preceed the movement path,
see example below.

For Example:
BEGINMEAUTOINPUT

1,1,100001,1001,Dubious Name,10April2002,NO,7

fred ,555,Harlech,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--
fred ,850,no,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw,sw

halfd,728,Znebulug Frigglew,m,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--
halfd,765,fred ,0,0,0,0,0,800,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--

ji in,215,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--
ji in,810,1010,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--

zacar,810,4444,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--,--

ENDMEAUTOINPUT

WARNING! This solution to the automagic problem has not been tested with actual game orders. So please be aware of this fact.

We prefer players did not do this without us play testing this first. It could be very bad for the program. Automagic and MEOW have lots of testing done on it and got many safeguards for error checking which we don't know will work on this. It SHOULD work but we don't know that it WILL work if you know what I mean.

So whoever wrote this (no name given) please get in touch with us directly so that we can check it out before giving it out as a solution. (If a player does use this method and an error occurs we are unable to fix it!)

Thanks
Clint
