Battle of the Five Armies Map

Massive thanks to Oystein for creating the colour map of the Battle of Five
Armies. It looks great - with all the map showing, pcs for each of the
nations and very pretty to boot as well.

You can download it from the website - www.MiddleEarthGames.com/downloads

(go to the downloads section of the website). Even if you don't intend to
play it is well worth a look!

Thanks

Clint

Just checked it - works fine.

www.MiddleEarthGames.com

then links & Downloads (top middle link)

Battle of the Five armies click on - then download the appropriate files.

This should work...

Hmmm. Have you tried rightclicking on the 5armies.pdf link, and use
Save target as.. instead of trying to open? Might be something wrong
with your PDF plugin.

Not a big file, only 90k. If it still doesn't work, let me know and
I'll just email you the file

Worked fine for me both at work and home, both opening it in IE, and
saving it.

What's a right-click? I have a Macintosh...

If the site is set up "correctly" clicking on the link should start a
download without reference to a plug-in.

Could you just send it to me, please? After all the comments I've read, it
would be a shame not to be able to admire your work!

Gavin

Now we know why it isn't working - ?superior? Mac technology is
involved...

fyi, I have been able to both download it as the attachment to the
original message to this server and from the ME website. Must be
that my Windows machine is too stupid to get confused. *grin*

It isn't working because crap Microsoft technology is involved, boyo!

(Looks good too. Nice work!)

And it works just fine on my "crap" Microsoft technology. Are you sure you're applying
the word "crap" to the correct technology? Seems like the Microsoft people aren't
having the problems your "superior" Mac technology is having.

Have a little patience here.

Did you try holding down your mouse click for a second... a "double-
click" is effectly a held-down click on macs? As to Microsoft tech... I
never have a crash on my OS X system.... never. Now I wish I could say
that about my windows emulator which dies on a weekly basis (my emulator
nicely emulates the blue screen!). The only blue screen I see is my
background picture.

And likely it is "cr@p" MS technology he's dealing with since my money is
he's using Exploder for Mac. And THAT IS a piece of junk. It often screws
up browser direct downloads. Seen it and been there. So please don't
assume MS only makes junk software for Windows 8000 or whatever it's up
to now. The Mac stuff is sweeter looking but still as crash prone.

My advice, fellow mac user, if you're using classic then get iCab. If OS
X then get Omniweb or Mozilla.

And please don't provoke the MS users. We gotta live with them too. And
they already have enough things that irritate them like blue screens,
plug and pray, and loads of cheesy VB scripts anyone can write that'll
bring their system down in seconds. No need to rile them further.

PS. And next time you send your email with your orders and Harlie's
server is down, Blame Bill...

I'm in the process of dumping Outlook Express in favour of Green, so I may
well take you advice and dump IE in favour of iCab.

Indeed. It's amazing just what these poor souls will put up with.

May you never have a heart attack. (Think about it.)

Hi

Sam here with system admin hat on.

I just wanted to clear up something, I think maybe Clint implied that our
server went down. In fact in both this case and our January problem, our ISP
had problems due to denial of service virus attacks. It was a Melissa clone
in January and it was Nimda last month.

We're with Pipex, who claim that around 70% of the top 100 British internet
firms use them, so I don't think we can necessarily improve on our ISP.

However, I agree that DOS attacks are only possible due to the MS attempted
hegemonisation of the world of computers (which has its good side as well as
bad).

Perhaps we should take this discussion off list now? If anyone wants to
comment to me about the above, or even give welcome advice, perhaps mail me
direct?
