I’m the Free - who’s the DS? Turns are in and I’m raring to go

Hey JK, well its not me. I am FP in 114 though… clearly this could massively backfire on me but right now i feel that the cards are loaded atleast somewhat towards FP… DS need to i. go hard and ii. get lucky to capitalise on their early advance in starting armies. After that, 36 characters vs 24 characters should just grind the DS down, down, down…
See, I thought the same initially, but once I looked at it again the military side of things really comes to bear - Wargs can constantly churn out HC, possibly in steel - Free can’t, they have further to march and need to be fed to get onto the mountains. Northmen is really exposed and Elves need more commanders. Add to the fact that Free need to refuse challenge a lot more - basically the DS get to be more offensive (pun intended).
Still, should be interesting… I’m just glad there are no dragons!!

Well… noone wants to own up to being my opponent either. Infact, I am still waiting for the other guy(s) to submit their turn 1… if I have to wait much longer I am going to have to rip up my orders and start all over again just to remove the boredom !
LMAO! I know the feeling! I’ve just come out of my 1v1 against Clint, used to dealing with 12 nations (well, 11 after I killed Arthedain… what’s wrong with a 106% tax rate?!) so I did my orders on the day. And am now waiting… zzzzzzz!

DS opponent here, live and kicking. Actually my turns were sent in on Monday, Monday of last week (not today). So why we have not had
the game processed yet is beyond me. Have emailed Clint to see if he
would like me to re-submit my orders. I am just as eager to play and look
forward to a hard-fought battle.

Interesting turn 1 - the anticipated early offensive by the DS was well executed, although most of my blocks went off ok. Elves and NM to lose a town each, possibly a second town for the Elves too - Warg Riders to lose a camp! How’s that for a fair trade?!
On the other hand I successfully bought out the leather… so methinks the huge conjure mounts advantage the DS have will be of little use without heavy investment in camping in the plains. At least, that’s the plan!!!

My turns are in and am ready to roll. Opening moves went as well as could be foretold. True the DS are at a disadvantage, character-wise and with the Dwarves being the backbone of the Free with their fortified pop’s so far away then this is where the cavalry come into it. Having spent a considerable amount of time pondering over the game in these last two weeks, a few new ideas have come to mind and will be implimented into this game. Will be interested in seeing how you deal with this and your dwarven army movements. FYI it normally takes me between three to five days to get my turns in. I am happy to have the turns processed ASAP after that. One question for ya, where is the One Ring? Hmmmm… is little Bilbo still in possession of it or are you thinking of a special spot on the finger of an elf? Hmmmmm… will have to rethink some strategies concerning this.

Nah, to be honest I love the quick turn around of things, it’s more a case of being away from home without internet access for about 6.5 days a week right now, which means trying to fit it in between sleeping! Still, silly season in work ends in May, so if I last that long look forward to a nice quick turn-around!

Know how that is, going away to a tradeshow for the weekend in Michigan though only really have Sundays off as my workload entails me to a normal 70 hour week. With our first baby on the way hope I can escape alittle earlier in the future (atleast that’s what I am promising my wife!). Good planning for next turn, been a lot of fun so far.
