Bree 22 - What Happened?

Bree...that forgotten 2 hour download....

Suddenly, last week or so, out of the blue, a stranger (to
me at least) posted on this list. A flurry of replies and
follow ups resulted. This is likely because the forum has
over 300 members and this list is slowly withering...users
suddenly pounced on fresh meat... (Yeah yeah, me too..

This new person tantalized and teased with promises of a new
and fresh look at Victory Points - supposedly coming out in
the new Bree! Victory Points? What good can possibly come out
of a look at Victory Points? The only thing I've ever heard of
them being used for (noting relative strengths between
allegiances) was noted as "useful also"...but thus NOT in this
article? Well, I must say, I'm, frankly, quite excited to see
what could possibly make Victory Points interesting...and a
dark little corner of me is wondering what kind of polite debate
may follow...

Within a week of all this promise and expectation (well, I really
didn't believe him when he said it would be in Bree...Bree?
What's that?...)...we get a NEW BREE!!! Yippee! Can't wait!

And.....nothing... Not to disparage the articles that were in
this edition. Read them all, hope the SuperDelux MS MEPBM 4.1,
or whatever it was, is tongue in cheek, mind you, but....? Eh?

Confusedly Yours,

Canadian Brad

Perhaps it was rejected. I have always maintained that in order for Bree to improve, it needs to have strong editorial selectivity. However, if this was the case here, you are probably rubbing salt into the chap's wounds.

Perhaps he would like to publish it here, so that his ideas may be subjected to the forge of debate.

My point Clint was:

"Where is the article about Victory Points?"

No Bree for ages, then a mysterious mention of an article in
Bree...then a Bree..but no article... Conceptual failure

I think he probably did not have the article finished in time. You do
remember him asking about the deadline and Clint saying, in so many words,
"soon"?

Brad,

Maybe I read too much tone or cynicism in your e-mails, or maybe it
is just that there is once again NO Canadian team in the hunt for
Stanley's cup??

I don't know if you have had an article published in Bree or on the
web site Brad, but these things take time. Compound the writing time
with trying to crack the mystery of HOW VPs are assigned and you know
why I am still working on this project.

I believe I never went on record as saying my article would
definately be in Bree or on the site (this is out of my control, but
I do have the goal). Furthermore, I did not say anything about
appearing in the next issue. In fact, I asked Clint about the turn-
around timeframe to get an idea myself.

I appreciate your anticipation and any follow-up debate, and hope
that your grilling Clint was just out of longing to see the article.
If you like I will send a copy to you once I send it to Colin.

The article is coming along...700 of the 900 word max.

I expect to put some time in on finishing up the article this weekend
if I can avoid the temptation to peek in on this great chat site that
I was only recently made aware of.

FYI I may be new to the site but my first ME TA game was in 1991.

Low low low low....

I don't know if you have had an article published in Bree or on the
web site Brad, but these things take time.

A few articles, including a multi-part one over 3 Brees.

Simple misunderstanding then. When it was mentioned in association
with Bree, one assumes it's "in Bree". I am STILL eagerly awaiting
it!

hope that your grilling Clint was just out of longing to
see the article.

Nah, it's just fun to grill Clint.

any longer this year...
