CCGs

Something else that I take part in quite a lot. Due to the time involved
in playing most of them many of the people I know just play Magic for fun. I
have played against many of the top 25 in Scotland in many competitions that
were run in Glasgow. Strangely I always seemed to finish third. We have had
some really scary Multiplayer games in which I tended to hide in the corners
until I was ready to unleash my land, creature destruction with damage taken
for everyone. Killed around 25 players in one go doing that. They picked on
me after that <grin>.

Not sure - some sort of cheesey deck won it though. I think it was sealed
deck or draft but it was a bit of a strange weekend so cannot recall

really.

Also 60 card limits. You gained cards in your library from a random pool

of

cards if you killed the player on your left, and as it was a friendly
tournament, the Refs helped out... Great fun - thanks for reminding

me.

BTW if you ever want to play CCGs:
Jyhad - our fav at present - we play a lot sealed deck/booster draft -
cool - Tourney decks bit broken
Shadowfist (playtested)- played occasionally great fun for multiplayer -
better than Magic that way - sucks 2 player.
ME - played it a few times - okay but John reckons it's broken
Dune (demoed)- nice idea - complex enough but failed to hit it off
Five Rings - some seemed to love it - looked fine when we played it - great
for diploming?
Netrunner (demoed and Refed this)- nice but a bit "boring"
Judge Dredd (playtested this) - um - nice artwork - no more can be said
Babylon 5 (playtested) - okay didn't really get into it
Imajica (demoed) - utterly awful (books okay but weird) - spent the entire
weekend at Gencon trying to hide the game
Magic - good game - we played if for ages and did quite well at it - shame
about the ethical aspects though.
Some Cyberpunk game forgotten the name of - not bad for a simple game -

best

3 player - laid traps for the teams
Xena - okay but too simplistic - quickly got bored
Some other cyberpunk game Botwar type - had a bot called "Clint" - what

more

can you ask for. Well a good game really.

My I have played a lot of CCGs.... :frowning: Must get a life sometime - "Magic
joke - tap one plain, one sprite, swords to plowshares"

Best go back to my Hyperspace /10 dimensional space book... Quite

proud

that I got lost after 90 pages... (though I undestand Tensors better

again).
