Challenging NPC

Question – I thought when you win a challenge against a NPC that the highest skill ranks goes up by a point or two and of course ya get a Lost list spell (if mage) and gold

But in two different games now – One being a character with Command , Agent (highest skill) and mage – I killed the spider Enna Sareb and this character did get a lost list spell and gold but the command rank went up by 4 point , not the Agent rank !!

And the other character was a straight mage and killed Celgor and got a lost list spell and gold but no point increase to skills !!

I know fax (Brad) also told me that Elrond’s command skill went up when he killed dragons and not his mage skill which was highest skill at the time !!

Did this change – i could have sworn it was highest skill rank that went up , but could be wrong !!

Note: Using the encounters, not the 210 order… I’ve only previously used single class (command mostly) as dragon killer using 210 and skill rank increases are as usual while there’s no gold or spells from a 210… 285 is where the funky stuff happens.

Aye – I did a 285 on one and just did a flee on the other but got the bump to command like you did not the highest skill – thought it was supposed to be highest skill – No ??

Challenge rank is calculated by finding a primary then adding 1/2 the rest. You win, you boost your primary skill. The 285’s with c/e/m’s with extremely high mage rank boosted Command skill. I’d love to know how that get’s rationalized, while I haven’t done it with a pure mage, or at least a non-Noodle non-C mage. Will try a Sindar next time…

See you are say the Highest skill level should have went up – but in the cases i have given they didn’t and even you told me that Elrond’s command rank went up and not his highest skill rank which should have been mage skill – so what gives as I thought it was highest skill rank also !!
