Hi,
What do you people think about this..
Is it OK to name a character just slightly different every time? For
example..
Elrond names new character Ellrond, who names a new character Elorond who
names a new character Elerond etc?
Probably not breaking the rules, but not very sporting is it!!
Also, what about naming characters such as Thorkmaw, Smuag, Itengast,
Kylaxar, Khuzedrepa, etc? ie just changing a letter in a dragons name?
As long as the first five letters are different it can be done - can't it?
Then, when the character turns up at a pop centre, at first glance it looks
like a dragon has come calling.
What about this? Din Ohtar's id is din_o. Could I name a character and
put a space at the front i.e _din_? If you could, this character would
never get assassinated, kidnapped etc!! Is it allowed?
And something I didn't know until recently,
If you leave a characters' name blank when creating a new one, the names
come from a stock character list don't they? There is a list of names of
elvish origin for new characters in the Sinda and Noldo ranks for example.
Harlequin take these names from a list, they don't use their creative genius.
Sometimes when you do a scout for characters, you get a rogue name crop up
from this list. The character isn't really there, his name has come from
this list to indicate your scout hasn't been accurate. Three times in one
game, I came up with a long rider character from my scout. And every time,
my challenge/assassination failed because the character wasn't present. I
decided I would ignore this name if it cropped up again.
I *think* You can tell if its a real character because you find Warlock
Saerol, Warlord Hagrog, Spy Kadida etc. It's a stock character if it just
gives a name. Am I right? I'd appreciate it if anyone here knows for
certain???
