Okay discussed with the team and what we're going to do now is make it that it's a toggle from the Map preference Menu. Toggle on and the icon will appear as an Icon on the Icon menus, Toggle off and it will disappear.
This will mean new players won't get confused with an array of what the hell does this all do, and experienced players will Toggle on/off/on/off to their hearts desire.
Yes it's already one of those weeks... 
In answer to the next quetsion that my Palantir says will occur - when the next JO gets released, and the Palantir of the Palantir says, we're working on it.
