hey... I used to play mepbm back in 1998, and I'm returning now
to conquer Mirkwood as DL....
I'm wondering.... I used the Combat calculator V2 of Holger
Eichmann ( hope that's spelled right, if not sry). Qhen I downloaded
it again now, it doesn't work... any number i fill in any field is
turned to zero as soon as the cursor leaves the field....
Anyone knows what this is ? Or have another ComSim that I can
use ?
Oh, and I wonder, are there other ezines like MoS or Bree
going around ? My files could sure use some updating
Use the AutoMagic calculator. It's rather
conservative but wirks very well. Download it from
the Middle Earth Play By Mail Sight.

Here in Brazil, AutoMagic wouldn't be a good alternative because we don't
receive our turns in XML format. We only receive the PDF file, not the XML
one.
Players here in Brazil use Combat Calculator a lot to simulate army
combats. I'm the webmaster of a brazilian MEPbM site and I have received
some e-mails from players who are having some problems with Combat
Calculator as described by Rodrigo Goth.
At home, I use Combat Calculator in my computer, which OS is WinXP, and I
didn't observed this problem. However, Rodrigo wasn't the only one who
noticed this software's weird behaviour.

Have you updated your version of Windows since then? If you're running
Windows XP, try setting the program properties for the Combat Calc to run
in Windows 95 mode.

You can still use the Battle Calculator and Economic
Calculator in AutoMagic. You don't need a turn to
make these options work. There is also a bunch of
other good stuff under the misc headings.
