I would like to state things to new players and to some vets who like to
take to many chances with armies. I have played the Cloud Lord twice,
and have played other nations ALL whom are agents supportive. I like
agents, I also like armies, but some reason I get stuck with agent
nations.
1. Never.. NEVER N E V E R..! run a large army with a single commander.
I can not even explain how many times I have killed off an army with a
single agent due to no backup commander.
2. Change commanders after a battle. You guys make it too easy to follow
your army. I know who your commander is, and I scout him. Then your
commander is D E A D.. and if you only have one commander NO army.
3. Agents that kill armies.. due so generally ALONE.. yes alone. Agent
companies are made for moving onto popcenters, if you have an army
running around the back side of Mordor, then I have to have scouts find
your army. That is if you are predictable. This goes along with the 2
commanders per army thing. And if you think you can deal with one agent,
then know that army catching agents are generally alone and don't always
refuse.
4. Stealth is key. When I move onto an enemy popcenter, or a hex with
enemy present, I don't move in without a scout. If I see some names that
are a direct result of stealth or Free Person Male, I run with my tiny
tail between my legs. Stealth artifacts are some ways to achieve this,
others are to have characters with stealth stick around popcenters. As
the Free you have more ability in this than the Dark Servants. It always
amazes me when a big character like Celeborn does not show up on a scout
(yes I know he is there cause he is running an army "another big no no")
cause of his natural stealth. If Celeborn had not been the army
commander, then I would be unsure of myself as an agent nation, whether
to risk not guarding Ji Indur or go for the gusto. Indecision can cost
the enemy everything.
This game isn't going to change.. limiting agents isn't going to happen.
You MUST prepare for the agents as best you can. Why do I share some of
my secrets, well this game is getting to where I don't have to worry so
much anymore. I like a good challenge to my agent supremacy, and would
like to see some Free players start to counter me more effectively.
